Boundary controllability for the quasilinear wave equation
We study the boundary exact controllability for the quasilinear wave equation in the higher-dimensional case. Our main tool is the geometric analysis. We derive the existence of long time solutions near an equilibrium, prove the locally exact controllability around the equilibrium under some checkable geometrical conditions. We then establish the globally exact controllability in such a way tha...
متن کاملUniform boundary controllability of a discrete 1-D wave equation
A numerical scheme for the controlled discrete 1-D wave equation is considered. We prove the convergence of the boundary controls of the discrete equations to a control of the continuous wave equation when the mesh size tends to zero when time and space steps coincide. This positive result is in contrast with previous negative ones for space semi-discretizations.

and Applied Analysis 3 where α > 0, λ > 0, and p > 1. Their proof revealed that if the initial data is small enough, then there exists a unique solution. Once removing the assumption that the initial data is small, then one should addN ≤ 4 with p > 1 orN ≥ 5 with 1 < p ≤ N/ N−4 to assure the existence of a unique solution. Further, from their results, one can also find that the solutions of 1.5...
متن کاملExact boundary controllability of the linear advection equation
The advection equation is used to model the transport of material whose mass is conserved. If the vector field governing the advection is divergence-free, then the advection equation reduces to the usual transport equation which is used to model linear diffusion processes such as transport of neutrons, scattering of light and propagation of -rays in a scattering medium [1]. The uncontrolled adv...
متن کاملBoundary local null-controllability of the Kuramoto-Sivashinsky equation
We prove that the Kuramoto-Sivashinsky equation is locally controllable in 1D and in 2D with one boundary control. Our method consists in combining several general results in order to reduce the nullcontrollability of this nonlinear parabolic equation to the exact controllability of a linear beam or plate system. This improves known results on the controllability of Kuramoto-Sivashinsky equatio...
